VE SS Paint Correction and Wax – Steve’s Regular Maintenance Routine
Steve’s VE SS is his pride and joy.
He has washed the car at least once a week for the last 8 years and brings it in roughly every 6 months for correction and wax.
That might sound like a lot to some people, but this is exactly why his car stays close to perfect all year round.
Because Steve looks after the car gently, each visit is usually only around $500 to $800 rather than becoming a massive correction job.
That is the part people often miss.
Looking after a car properly does not mean cleaning it more aggressively.
In fact, cleaning is usually the main cause of scratches and swirls.
The trick is not the highest level of cleaning.
It is the highest level of care.
Big difference.
A car can be washed every week and still look terrible if it is washed roughly. Wrong sponge, wrong towel, dirty bucket, poor technique, too much pressure, wiping dry dust around — that is how swirls build up.
Steve is able to wash his car regularly while still reducing scratching considerably because he is careful with how he does it.
That means when the car comes back to us, it usually has no obvious water marks, no major swirls and no heavy scratching. It just needs a controlled correction and wax to keep the finish at a high level.
This is old-fashioned proper maintenance.
Not magic.
Not hype.
Just consistent care.
Steve also likes Swissvax Crystal Rock as an upgrade, which is an extra $150.
On a daily driven vehicle, Crystal Rock may last around 3 months depending on how the car is stored and what it is exposed to. Parking under certain trees, heavy contamination, harsh weather and washing habits can shorten the life of waxes and sealants.
That is normal.
Nothing exposed to the real world lasts forever.
The point is that regular maintenance stops the car from falling too far behind.
Instead of waiting until the paint is hammered and then needing a huge correction, Steve keeps the car at a high standard all year.
That is why his correction cost stays sensible.
Paint correction refines the clear coat surface. It improves clarity, gloss and reflection by permanently improving the surface itself.
Wax then adds warmth and short-term protection.
A ceramic coating like OPTiX FMJ Graphene would add a much tougher bonded glass-like layer, increasing gloss, slickness, reflections and long-term protection further again, but not every customer wants the same system. Steve likes his regular correction and wax routine, and it works because he maintains the car properly.
This VE SS is a good example of how proper maintenance saves money.
Not by doing nothing.
By doing the right things regularly and gently.
