Zeekr 7X FMJ Graphene Coating – Cliff’s Third Car With AutoFX WA
Cliff travelled down from north of the river with his Zeekr 7X for our OPTiX FMJ Graphene coating package.
This is now the third vehicle Cliff has trusted us with, which means a lot. When someone is prepared to travel across Perth and then come back with another car, it tells us they value the way we prepare the paint, explain the job and look after the vehicle rather than simply choosing the closest workshop.
The Zeekr 7X is a very modern-looking car with large clean panels, gloss-black details and paint that really benefits from proper preparation before coating.
Preparation Comes Before the Coating
Even on a new vehicle, we do not assume the paint is ready for coating straight away.
The car is washed and decontaminated, then the paint is inspected under proper workshop lighting. A finishing machine polish is used where appropriate to improve clarity, remove light transport or washing marks and leave the surface completely clean before the coating is applied.
This is important because the preparation is what refines the clear coat and creates the clarity in the paint. A coating should not be used to hide poor preparation.

Two Layers of OPTiX FMJ Graphene
Cliff’s Zeekr received two layers of OPTiX FMJ Graphene coating, which is our six-year coating option when applied as the two-layer system.
FMJ is a professional ceramic graphene coating with a strong bonding foundation and a tough exterior finish. One of the things we notice most in the workshop is how strongly it takes to a properly prepared surface. It can actually be quite sticky to install and level, which is part of the reason the application process needs to be controlled rather than rushed.
Once cured, the finish is noticeably slick, and that slickness remains obvious after repeated washing when the coating is maintained correctly.
The coating adds a tough, glass-like protective layer over the prepared paint and helps protect against normal environmental exposure such as UV, road grime, bird droppings, tree sap and regular washing.
It also adds another level of gloss, depth and reflection to the paint.
Preparation creates the clarity. FMJ protects it and adds another level of gloss, depth and reflection.

A Repeat Customer Travelling Across Perth
Cliff is a good example of why we do not think of AutoFX WA as only servicing the immediate O’Connor area.
We are based in O’Connor within the City of Fremantle, but customers regularly travel from across Perth because they want a particular type of workmanship or already know what to expect from us.
Cliff comes from north of the river and this is now his third car with us.
We also regularly see customers from neighbouring City of Melville suburbs such as Myaree, Melville, Kardinya, Applecross and Booragoon, along with many other areas across Perth. We keep those location references natural because they reflect where our actual customers come from rather than trying to turn every job into a suburb page.
The Finished Zeekr 7X
The Zeekr’s grey-blue metallic paint responded beautifully to the preparation and FMJ system. Under the workshop lighting, the metallic finish looked cleaner and more defined, with stronger reflections and a noticeably slicker final surface.
The black trims and sharp body lines also make this model particularly good at showing the difference between paint that is simply clean and paint that has been properly prepared and coated.
Thank you again to Cliff for making the trip and trusting AutoFX WA with a third vehicle.
