Toyota Corona Rear Guard Rolling in Perth

Toyota Corona Rear Guard Rolling

We recently had this Toyota Corona in at AutoFX WA for rear guard rolling.

Really cool old car and in very good condition for its age.

The owner needed more clearance at the rear, so we rolled both rear guards.

With older cars, one of the main things we look at before starting is the condition of the paint and whether there has been any previous repair work. A guard can look fine from the outside but still have old paint, filler or repairs underneath, and that can change how the panel reacts when it is rolled.

Rear guard rolling on an older car

Guard rolling is basically reshaping the inner lip of the guard to create more room around the tyre.

On some cars it is fairly straightforward. On others, especially older cars, you need to take your time.

Paint condition, previous repairs and the shape of the guard all make a difference.

That is why we always look at the actual car first instead of assuming every guard will behave the same.

The result

Both rear guards on the Corona rolled nicely and the finished result came up very clean.

No drama, no unnecessary work โ€” just a good result on a really nice old Toyota.
