Paint Protection – Rolls Royce Flying Spur
« Back to BlogPosted: 18 Oct 2014
We had the luxury of being given the job on this Flying Spur to polish and protect.
There are only 2 of these in all of Australia.
We performed a 3 stage paint correction using the best polishes.
We then apply the paint protection that forms a hard protective layer of a couple microns that will protect for the next few years.
The wood lacquer of the interior was treated using a protective Wax to produce a high gloss protective finish.
The Vinyl roof was treated to protect and preserve.
Thank you John very much for trusting us machine polishing, protecting and detailing of your rare car.
Paint Protection & Paint Correction
There are a few different reasons for paint correction, from just increased shine or light scratch removal to heavy scratch removal or even to correct previous polishing faults to the complete paint correction.
Paint Correction is the technical term for; car polishing;compounding;buff & polish;cut & polish or machine polishing. The term paint correction is accepted internationally.
There 3 main components of our Paint Correction system.
1. Levelling
2. Medium finish
3. Fine
The first category is called ‘Levelling’ this is where the user needs to remove almost every scratch or swirls that will leave behind buffing swirls, marring, haze and severe holograms. 2 or 3 stages might be used to complete the levelling required
This category is the removal of haze, buffing swirls, marring and or severe holograms that is left behind from Levelling. Once this stage is complete, all that is left are the deeper scratches and very fine holograms which is expected from a medium stage.
The final category will polish to a high wet gloss of the painted surface to a fine finish.
