A little about OPTIX New Car Paint Protection – 2017 Mercedes-Benz E350.

The Process
The polishing of the brand new car took 3 hours to achieve the desired results. 3 hours is a very small polishing job considering the hardness of the ceramic nano paint. The pre wash, decon and paint correction was done on day ONE and took about 4 hours. Day TWO is coating day using of our custom hybrid coating. OP888 a hard ceramic/quartz SiO2 is applied then allowed to air cure/vent for the next 2 hours. Next we started applying the first 2 coats of OP888 onto the face of the wheels. A coat of OP888 is applied within all the door & boot openings (door jams).
2 hours later, we check the first coat of OP888 on the body, then start the top coat of OP1 a softer much more hydrophobic coat. OP1 offers even more colour saturation and more importantly offers a much more wetter gloss also called a “Candy shine”. The OP1 top coat requires a much longer setting and curing time so infra red lamps are required to set the coating enough for a same day pickup.
Regardless of make or model vehicle a glass coatings will always play some advantage because it is a lot tougher than wax, not just double or triple the durability but more like 40 times. As an example imagine waxing your car once a month for 40 months in a row, well that’s kind of what a good SiO2 coating system can mimic.
