Why “Best Ceramic Coating” Means Nothing Without Proper Application

Every week we hear it:
“What’s the best ceramic coating?”
The truth is, the coating itself is only part of the equation.
Application, surface preparation, and paint condition determine whether a coating performs properly — not just the brand name on the bottle.
Preparation Determines Performance
Before applying any ceramic coating, we assess the vehicle properly.
That means:
• Measuring paint thickness
• Checking how much clear coat we actually have to work with
• Identifying previous correction work
• Decontaminating the surface properly
• Refining defects safely
Modern factory paint isn’t thick. Once clear coat is removed, it doesn’t grow back.

Correction isn’t about chasing perfection at any cost. It’s about improving clarity responsibly and preserving the long-term health of the paint.
Ceramic coating will lock in whatever is underneath. If the preparation isn’t right, the coating won’t magically fix it.

No Two Vehicles Are the Same
Daily driver?
Weekend enthusiast car?
Recently resprayed panel?
Hard European clear coat or softer Japanese paint?
Each vehicle requires a different approach.
There is no universal “best coating” if the process isn’t correct.
Customers Travel From Across Perth
Although we’re based in O’Connor, City of Fremantle, many of our ceramic coating and paint correction clients travel from across the Perth metro area. Including regional WA. We regularly see vehicles from north of the river, the hills, coastal suburbs, and further south. Enthusiasts are often prepared to travel when they want the job done properly.
Quality application and responsible correction matter more than postcode.

The Right Process Matters More Than the Label
The coating brand matters.
But the preparation and application matter more.
At our O’Connor workshop, vehicles are assessed individually before correction and coating. The goal is long-term protection and safe improvement — not a temporary gloss boost.
If you’re considering ceramic coating, make sure the focus is on process, not just marketing claims.
