Nissan Pathfinder Headlight Restoration for Anchalee
Anchalee brought her Nissan Pathfinder in for headlight restoration.
This was not one of those jobs where the customer wanted the most expensive option or the longest-term solution possible.
She was planning to sell the car in around two years, so the job needed to make sense for that plan.
That matters.
Not every customer needs the highest-cost repair. Sometimes the right job is the one that suits the car, the budget and how long the owner plans to keep it.
For this Pathfinder, we used our single-pack plastic clear coat option.
This type of finish is UV stable for around 1.5 to 3 years depending on how the car is stored, washed and exposed to the sun. It is not the same as doing a longer-term restoration with PPF protection over the headlight, but for this situation it made sense.
The big advantage with this clear coat is the finish.
It self-levels very well, has almost zero texture, and gives the headlight that crystal-clear, near-new look without needing sanding or buffing after application.
That is important because some headlight coatings can leave texture, haze or a finish that still looks slightly repaired. This option gives a very clean visual result.
The Pathfinder’s headlights had the normal dull and aged look that happens when the outer plastic lens starts breaking down from UV exposure.
The restoration process removes the damaged outer layer, brings the clarity back, and then the clear coat helps protect the plastic from going cloudy again too quickly.
Headlight restoration is not just about looks either.
Clear headlights improve the front-end presentation of the car, which matters when selling, and they also help the vehicle look better maintained overall.
For Anchalee’s Pathfinder, this was the right level of repair.
Just a practical restoration for a car that is likely being sold in the next couple of years.
Due to the wet weather we have in winter it would normally not be allowed to get the fresh clear coat wet for many hours. In our shop we have a 15AMP Infrared lamp to bake the clear about 30minutes then ready for the wet weather.
