AutoFX WA has been playing around with solidifying chemicals for the application of paint protection for over 14 years, specifically for a semi permanent solution that provides the primary function to be hydrohobic and to do away with having to regularly wax the surface.

14 years?  Main stream glass coating products have only been around for a few years so how could this be?

I originally had the idea when I stumbled upon a resin that would solidify upon the introduction of UV light. The liquid would cause an instant reaction and generate 55 to 60  degrees celcius.  Once cured the resin would form a solid membrane over the surface.

The product was never manufactured though we did trial the product as a beta development.
After 12 months the hobby was put away and forgotten about.
Many years later the first full commercial production for both trade and retail started to come available for the public to buy.

Just a little bit of history of how one man’s idea becomes someone else’s success and changed the industry.
