When the owner, Ashley, brought his custom Boom Trike to AutoFX WA, it presented a unique mechanical challenge. While we routinely handle high-end sports cars and custom builds at our O’Connor workshop, this project marked our first opportunity to execute a full paint correction on a three-wheeled trike.

Intricate vehicles like a Boom Trike feature complex, tightly packed geometry. Unlike a flat car door panel, a custom trike requires navigating tight spaces around exposed chrome, open suspension components, and sweeping fiberglass bodywork. Our detailers on the job, systematically isolated the delicate areas, utilizing small-clearance machine mini-polishers to safely correct the deep black paint without burning edges or slinging compound into the exposed mechanical running gear.

True paint correction relies on technical patience rather than heavy-handed pressure. Chasing defects on an open-wheeled custom machine requires a calculated approach to maximize depth and clarity while respecting the existing film build.
