Some cars already look tough from the factory, and the Ford Mustang Dark Horse is definitely one of them. But Jimmy knew there was one detail that would really finish it off properly.
Red brake calipers.
Clean white Brembo logos with the small pony underneath.
Nothing over the top.
Simple, sharp, and performance-focused.
Why Change the Calipers?
On a car like the Dark Horse, you notice the brakes straight away. Big wheels, aggressive stance, and plenty of power behind them — plain calipers just don’t do it justice.
Jimmy didn’t want anything loud or tacky. The goal was an OEM look:
-
A deep red that suits the car
-
White logos for contrast and clarity
-
Something that looks factory to an untrained eye
How We Did It
As always, the prep matters more than the paint.
The calipers were:
-
Fully cleaned and prepped
-
Carefully masked so everything stayed sharp
-
Painted and cured properly to handle real heat and real driving
White logos are unforgiving, so alignment and finish had to be spot on. No shortcuts.
The Result
The red calipers add just the right amount of pop behind the wheels, and the white logos keep it looking clean and intentional. It suits the Dark Horse perfectly — aggressive, but still classy.
It’s not a big mod, but it makes a big difference. The kind of change that makes you look twice when the car rolls past.
If you’re thinking about caliper painting, this is how it should be done — clean, subtle, and built to last.
